Our friends at VTA wanted me to remind you that these guidelines will be used to determine the station names that the VTA Phase II Community Working Groups will recommend to the City of San Jose. It is important that the station names can be recognized geographically from an overall BART system context and helpful for passengers who riding the system to get to their designation. In addition, station names should be simple for quick recognition, distinction and ease of pronunciation. From a station area context, station names could have historical basis and should be geographically significant. Stations cannot be named after private or commercial enterprises.
