In the future I will only refer to the development project at the 28th Street BART station as the Five Wounds Urban Village or the 28th Street BART Station. It became clear at the September 24th BRT meeting at the Alum Rock library (corner of Alum Rock and White Road) that the use of the name Alum Rock is way too confusing for many people and extremely inappropriate.
For example, the Alum Rock Village Business Association serves the businesses and communities of the Alum Rock Corridor from the East Foothills to the 680 freeway.
According to what maps I can find, all of the village of Alum Rock was East of White Road.
Here is an example;
We need to come up with a strategy to officially drop the “Alum Rock Station” from use for a site West of 101, near Santa Clara and 28th Streets. There is literally no connection to Alum Rock.
I guess this is another way you could say, “The BART station at 28th street is not negotiable!”
